Meet Janette Millin Young
Janette Millin Young brings decades of experience in communications, government, public affairs, media, corporate relations, and community engagement to her work with clients.
A former four-term Senator in the Legislature of the Virgin Islands, Janette has spent her career working at the intersection of communications, public policy, business, and community.
Her professional background began in journalism and broadcasting and expanded into government communications, where she served in senior media roles within the Government of the Virgin Islands. She later spent eight years in corporate affairs and public relations in the telecommunications industry before entering elected office.
Following her legislative service, Janette established Millin Young Consulting in 2019, bringing that breadth of experience to businesses, organizations, institutions, and initiatives seeking strategic guidance and effective engagement.
Her career has given her the opportunity to see issues from multiple perspectives: as a journalist asking the questions, a communications professional shaping the message, a corporate affairs executive managing relationships, a policymaker evaluating issues and making decisions, and a consultant helping clients navigate all of those environments.
Her experience in a small but complex Caribbean jurisdiction has also required her to work across government, business, media, nonprofit, and community sectors, often simultaneously. The ability to understand competing perspectives, build relationships across sectors, and communicate effectively within complex environments is increasingly valuable in an interconnected world.
That combination of experiences informs the way she approaches every assignment.
